She must learn again to speak
starting with I
starting with We
starting as the infant does
with her own true hunger
and pleasure
and rage.

Exprayeriment #22 - Praying the Hours: Compline

I yearn to be held in the great hands
of your heart -- oh let them take me now.
Into them I place these fragments,
my life, and you, God --
spend them however you want.

-Rainer Maria Rilke

We've come full circle in our exploration of the Hours.  Back to darkness.  Back to quiet.  Back to sleep.

Having lived through all the seasons of yet another day, Compline invites us now to let go of words and thoughts and actions.

This week's Exprayeriment is simple: use the music (playlist below, or click here) and the prayer above to prepare you for sleep.  Give the day's blessings, disappointments, joys and challenges over to God.

Rest well.  Be at peace.
