She must learn again to speak
starting with I
starting with We
starting as the infant does
with her own true hunger
and pleasure
and rage.

Exprayeriment #3 -- Decree of Golden Good

“There is golden good in this experience, and I claim it now!”

-Catherine Ponder

Prayers of decree are spiritual statements of recognition, attention, and invitation. Spoken out loud, they have an undeniably magical (and usually very concrete) effect on whatever situation or experience they are directed toward.

The prayer above, one of our favorites from Catherine Ponder, is the heart of this week’s exprayeriment:

First, think of a current situation that is troubling or challenging you, and say the above prayer statement ten times in a row while picturing/feeling the situation. Notice what happens to your emotional state as you repeat the prayer. (Even if you don’t believe that there is good in the experience, be willing to imagine that there is; say the prayer like you mean it, to the best of your ability, and simply observe your internal response.)

Next, think of a particular blessing in your life that you are especially grateful for, and say the statement ten times in a row as you picture/feel that situation. Again, notice what happens to your emotional state as you repeat the prayer.

Since ancient times, occultists have recognized the number ten as a potent symbol of magical increase. When you repeat this prayer ten times, you are affirming, and therefore inviting, increased good in both the challenge and the blessing. And the spoken word has been found to be far more powerful than thought...so you can up the ante considerably by praying out loud!

Do this practice once or twice a day, and notice how the statement affects your thoughts and feelings about both situations as the week progresses. Also, watch for external evidence of the prayer manifesting in both...and prepare to be surprised and delighted by how that evidence presents itself.

Then jump in the comment box and let everyone know what happened!  (Click here to log in, then navigate to the EHQ page on the F2 site to leave your comments.)
