She must learn again to speak
starting with I
starting with We
starting as the infant does
with her own true hunger
and pleasure
and rage.

Welcome to Exprayeriment #1!

To kick things off, we want everyone to share a list of words and/or phrases that come to mind when you ask, "Who is God to me?"

Right now, write down the words that come to mind.  (If you're reading this post via email, click here to go to the F2 site, log in and add your list in the comment box at the end of the post.)

And then give yourself time over the next few days to let the question simmer.  Most important, welcome whatever comes up in response.  If certain words and ideas about God surface that you would like to let go of, add them to the list, and notice the specific situations or circumstances that inspire those thoughts.  Same thing for the words and ideas to which you'd like to feel a stronger or more consistent connection.

The bigger the list and the more of us who contribute, the better.  So feel free to come back and add new words as often as necessary!

God, reveal Yourself to me; I want to know You. -Jeremiah 6:16

Let this be your prayer this week.

To celebrate the opening of the EHQ, we're giving away a prize - a reflective art journal by Christine Valters Paintner of Abbey of the Arts.  It is filled with beautiful images from some crazy-talented artists, along with their reflections on spirituality and creativity.  All you have to do to be entered is leave at least one comment with your list of God words.  We'll draw a name next Saturday.  Good luck!
